Frequently Asked Questions
Before You Buy
What is Reelify AI?
Reelify AI is an AI video clipper for Apple Silicon Macs that automatically finds the best moments in your long-form videos and turns them into short vertical clips.
It analyzes your footage for hooks, emotional peaks, quotable moments, and standalone clip ideas, then generates auto-captioned 9:16 clips you can quickly fine-tune, brand, and export for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts.
Unlike browser-based clippers, Reelify AI runs entirely on your Mac, so your videos never touch a server, and you can clip unlimited videos without any monthly credit or usage limits.
What devices and OS does Reelify AI support?
Reelify AI is built for Apple Silicon Macs, M1 or newer, running macOS 15 or above.
This deal is for the Reelify AI Mac desktop app. It does not include Windows, Intel Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android, or browser-based access.
What is the maximum import and export resolution?
Reelify AI currently supports importing videos up to 4K resolution and exports clips at the same source resolution, up to 4K.
Some users already work with 4K footage smoothly on higher-end Apple Silicon systems, including newer MacBook Pro models and Mac Studio setups.
That said, 4K files are heavier to process, so clipping and exports can take a bit longer, especially on older MacBook Air models or with less common source formats.
For the fastest and smoothest workflow, 1080p MP4 is usually the best option. 4K is fully supported if you are comfortable with slightly longer processing times.
Can I try Reelify AI before buying?
Yes, and we strongly recommend it if you are unsure about your Mac setup, language, video style, or workflow.
Because Reelify AI is a Mac desktop app, the best way to confirm fit is to test the free trial on your own Apple Silicon Mac with your own content before purchasing.
What features are not included right now?
Reelify AI is focused on private, unlimited AI clipping, captions, branding, reframing, and export.
It does not currently include Windows or Intel Mac support, iOS or Android integration, browser-based editing, social media scheduling, automatic B-roll insertion, stock footage generation, full timeline editing, transcript-based video editing, or advanced multi-cam automation.
Please buy based on the product's current clipping-focused workflow.
Does Reelify AI work with videos that have little or no spoken audio?
Reelify AI is built for videos with clear spoken audio.
It is not ideal for silent videos, music-only videos, drone footage, cinematic B-roll, travel montages, product shots, or clips without narration or dialogue.
These videos may generate very few AI clip suggestions, or no useful suggestions, because there is limited spoken context for the AI to analyze.
If your content is mostly visual footage without speech, Reelify AI is likely not the right fit right now. Use the free trial with your own content before buying.
Is Reelify AI a direct replacement for cloud-based AI clippers?
Not a 1:1 replacement yet.
Reelify AI is an early, focused Mac app built around private, on-device, unlimited AI clipping. Mature cloud-based clippers may offer more advanced automation, scheduling, or team workflows.
Reelify AI is for users who care more about on-device privacy, no credit anxiety, and no uploads.
Who is Reelify AI best suited for?
Reelify AI is best for Mac creators who want a private, on-device way to turn long-form talking videos into short vertical clips automatically using AI, without worrying about monthly credit limits or uploading footage to cloud servers.
It may not be the best fit if you mainly need a full AI video editor replacement, advanced B-roll automation, or mixed-language transcription.
Is Reelify AI a full AI video editor replacement?
No. Reelify AI is focused on AI clipping, not full video editing.
It helps you find clips, add captions, and reframe videos for social media. It is not meant to replace full editing suites like Final Cut Pro or Premiere Pro.
What languages are supported?
Reelify AI works best with English audio. For all non-English languages, caption and clip suggestion accuracy may vary.
It works decently with many major European languages, including Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Russian, and Ukrainian.
For stronger non-English results, especially in major European languages, switch to the Pro Captions Engine and turn on Non-English Video Mode in Settings before importing the video.
Other languages, including Arabic, Hindi, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, and similar non-European languages, may work but can be less accurate for captions and clip suggestions.
Mixed-language videos, for example switching between Hindi and English in the same video, are also not the ideal use case right now.
If your content is not primarily English or a major European language, use the free trial with your own content before buying.
How good is auto-framing?
Auto-framing works best with stable talking-head style videos.
For dynamic scenes or multi-speaker changes, you can use Pro Manual Override or the included manual framing controls for more precise positioning.
Are there credit limits, API keys, or monthly usage limits?
No. Reelify AI does not require any API keys or a BYOK setup, and does not have any per-minute or per-month video limits.
Because it runs entirely on your Mac, you can generate clip ideas and export clips without worrying about usage caps.
Source videos currently support up to 2 hours per file. That is a per-video limit, not a monthly limit, and videos that run slightly over can usually be trimmed quickly in QuickTime before import.
How can Reelify AI offer unlimited AI clipping without credit limits?
Reelify AI uses an on-device Edge AI workflow. Instead of sending every video through metered cloud servers, the core AI work runs on your Mac.
Since your device handles the processing, we don't need to meter your usage with monthly credit limits.
Your license is tied to Mac activations rather than usage. Source videos currently support up to 2 hours per file, and anything slightly longer can usually be trimmed before import without affecting your unlimited usage.
How is Reelify AI different from web-based AI clipping tools?
Most AI clippers rely on server processing, uploads, and credits. Reelify AI runs entirely on Apple Silicon Macs using an on-device edge AI workflow.
This means private processing, no video uploads, and no monthly credit limits.
The tradeoff is that Reelify AI is a focused tool rather than a mature all-in-one web platform.
Does Reelify AI work with short videos under 7 minutes?
Yes, but shorter videos may produce fewer clip suggestions because there is less context for the AI to analyze.
If the first suggestions are not strong, you can use "Refresh Suggestions" to generate new ideas without any limits.
How accurate are the AI clip suggestions?
AI clip suggestions can vary depending on your content, pacing, and audio clarity.
Reelify AI helps surface strong clip ideas, but it is still best used with your creator judgment.
For non-English videos, clip suggestions usually improve when the video is re-imported after switching to the Pro Captions Engine and turning on Non-English Video Mode in Settings.
You can refresh suggestions and fine-tune start and end points before exporting.
What if Reelify is missing one feature I need right now?
Feature requests from serious creators directly shape Reelify's roadmap.
If something is missing, email us at hello@reelifyai.co with your use case. We review every request and prioritize based on real creator needs.
How do I purchase the Creator or Viral Pro plan?
Upgrading takes just a few seconds inside the Mac app.
Click the star icon in the top-right corner of the Mac application to open the pricing page, then choose the plan you want.
Why aren't captions appearing in my exported video?
Captions will appear in exports once they have been generated and enabled before rendering.
If captions don't appear, try the following:
- Delete the video analysis from the History screen.
- Run a new analysis of the video.
- Export again.
This usually resolves the issue quickly. If the problem continues, contact support and we'll help.
Why can't I import a YouTube video?
Most imports work instantly.
If you're using a VPN, it can sometimes interfere with imports. Turning off the VPN usually resolves the issue.
You can also try switching networks or importing a local video file instead. If the issue continues, contact support.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel anytime by emailing hello@reelifyai.co.
We typically process cancellations within a few hours.
How do I contact support?
If you need help or have any questions, reach us at hello@reelifyai.co.
We usually respond within a few hours.
Using Reelify AI
What kind of videos is Reelify AI best for?
Reelify AI is designed to find hooks and quotable moments from longer videos.
It is best for 10+ minute talking videos, including podcasts, interviews, talking-head videos, educational videos, webinars, and long-form creator content.
Results depend on content structure and audio clarity.
How do I clip videos longer than 2 hours?
Reelify AI currently supports importing videos up to 2 hours per video. That is a per-video limit, not a monthly cap or a total usage limit.
If your video runs a little over 2 hours, the quickest workaround is to trim it down in QuickTime before importing:
- Open the source video in QuickTime Player.
- Go to Edit → Trim.
- Save the first section so it is under 2 hours.
- Import that trimmed file into Reelify AI.
For slightly longer recordings, this usually takes less than 30 seconds and is the simplest way to keep moving.
How do I use Reelify AI for non-English videos?
By default, Reelify AI is most heavily optimized for English. If you run a non-English video through the default setup, the English-first model can get confused and produce weaker clip suggestions than it should.
For much better non-English results, use this setup before importing your video:
- Switch to the Pro Captions Engine.
- Turn on Non-English Video Mode in Settings.
- Use a clear 10+ minute talking video with strong spoken context.
This setup tends to work best for major European languages such as German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish, and Romanian.
For full transparency, English is still the strongest native clipping workflow today. Non-English clipping is actively improving, and some videos may still require a bit of experimentation, but turning on those settings should give you a much more representative result.
Is Reelify AI browser-based or on-device?
Reelify AI uses an on-device Edge AI engine built for Mac.
Your videos are not uploaded to our servers for clipping, transcription, or export. This provides more privacy, more control, and zero credit limit anxiety.
Can I customize captions and branding?
Yes. Reelify AI lets you edit captions, customize styles, choose fonts and colors, and add branding such as your logo.
Caption accuracy is currently strongest with English audio.
Why can some exports take longer?
Reelify AI renders locally on your Mac, giving you full privacy and control without upload queues. Export speed depends on your source format, resolution, clip length, and editing options.
For the fastest turnaround, standard MP4/H.264 1080p sources usually perform best.
Export times can increase with 4K or higher-resolution files, WebM/AV1/VP9 sources, word-level burned-in captions, blur or smart-crop effects, split-screen or dynamic framing, long clip durations, and logo or watermark overlays.
Where are exported videos saved?
By default, Reelify saves exported videos to a ReelifyExports folder on your Mac.
For easier access, you can create a shortcut, or alias, to the ReelifyExports folder and place it on your desktop.
